Who is Cole?

Investing, building and selling

I joined Canyon Angels as a freshman. It's a Phoenix angel group that trains Grand Canyon University students as analysts. I was offered team lead at the end of my first semester and became Director at the end of sophomore year. We do due diligence on early-stage companies before they reach the group's investors: team, market, traction and competition.

At the end of freshman year I also became a scout at Campus Founders Fund, a student-run venture fund backed by Kickstart.

I founded GroupSked, a scheduling app for groups that meet regularly. It's live on the web, and I'm working on getting it onto the App Store.

At the start of junior year I began working at Goall to understand the psychology behind sales and get over my fear of rejection. Right now I'm learning how to adapt sales and negotiation techniques to different situations, and learning more about VC economics and fund management.

    A Phoenix angel group whose members have invested $7.5M+ across 70 companies. I joined as a freshman, became team lead after one semester and Director at the end of sophomore year. I also built an assessment for new analysts and worked on the group's website.

    Scout

    A student-run venture fund backed by Kickstart that writes $10–50K checks to student founders across the Mountain West. Since 2014 it has backed 50+ startups that have gone on to raise $150M+. I hear pitches, write diligence memos and take part in investment decisions.
